My top goal is to protect and care for our community. During this pandemic crisis we need affordable healthcare; especially for our vulnerable children and seniors. Safety includes common sense gun laws, promotion of science for increased vaccine usage, and keeping our schools and neighborhoods safe and welcoming for all.
We need to improve all aspects of our economy: affordable health care, resilient supply chains, and improved civil infrastructure. We need to rebuild our economic stability to manage the financial blow of this pandemic on hard-hit small businesses, towns, and neighborhoods. We need to use this opportunity to bring Colorado's infrastructure into the twenty-first century, with ecological wisdom and stewardship. We can protect our climate, grow our economy, and improve our quality of life.
I view this global pandemic as our “Sputnik moment”. Now is the time to double down on our school STEAM programs (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math). We need to ensure our children learn to apply creative thinking and design skills so that they can imagine a variety of ways to use these skills into adulthood. We need to reinvest in our neighborhood schools, equipping our teachers with the resources they need get the job done right.
